Ruminants account for more than 20% of human-caused methane emissions. The key contributor is cattle with a global population of approximately 1.3 billion - occupying some 24% of the planet’s agricultural surface. At the same time, ruminants have another dramatic impact on our planet - they consume about 30% of the crops grown on earth.
Our disruptive approach helps dairies produce more high-quality milk, with less resources and methane emissions.
We create a microbiome prediction and modulation platforms aiming at better feed efficiency, reduced methane emission, better milk composition, animal health and yield.
We find creative ways to manage the inherent tensions that emerge between People, Planet, and Profits and build truly synergic win-win solutions.
The ability of ruminants to utilize the energy stored in plant biopolymers depends ultimately on the activity of microbial populations residing in their rumen. Hence, these foregut fermenters rely critically on their associated gut microbes to digest their plant feed. Therefore, an efficient rumen microbiome is essential for absorbing more energy from the feed and emitting less methane.
We improve feed conversion and reduce methane emission through Huminn’s novel Convergence Innovation™️ platform. A disruptive, interdisciplinary approach based on the convergence of trailblazing microbiome research and innovative data analytics methodologies.
Based on exclusive methodologies, algorithmic, and computational tools developed in RumenEra Informatics Platform, we can develop an analytic standard for cow rumen diagnostics - as a seamlessly integrated platform for herd and dairy operations.
RumenEra’s solution go forward beyond associations of microbes and host traits - by isolating specific components of the microbiome and determining their effect on production and impact on microbiome composition, and finally directly measuring their effect on the animal’s traits.
We manage the inherent tensions that emerge between People, Planet, and Profits, not by trading off between them, but rather by finding new, creative ways to build truly synergic win-win solutions.
Without change, a dire future awaits. Sustainability/climate emergency dominates the conversation
Reduce methane emissions, use of land and water usage for feeding, while improving global nutrition, security, and animal welfare
Current production procedures used in the meat and dairy industries must change in order to become sustainable and remain profitable
Better milk composition through microbiology and data analytics

The microbiome is the community of microbes that exists in a particular environment. All people and animals benefit from their own microbiome, which plays a vital role in maintaining their nutritional health and immunity. However, optimizing the microbiome is still challenging because of the great differences between the microbiome and the lack of knowledge on the dominant microbes.
Our trailblazing microbiome research and innovative data analytics methodologies enable us to develop new microbiome modulation platforms that go beyond cows. We are already working on microbiome research in humans and fish to create innovative nutrition solutions, better address key health challenges, and strengthen our immune system.
